Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply Liquid Dye using the airbrush technique for beautiful, defined brows:
- Clean the Brows:
- Start by cleansing the brow area with the Supercilium Pro Cleanser.
- For a deeper clean, especially for clients with oilier skin or heavy makeup, use the Prep Peel. Massage it into the skin and let it sit for 20 seconds before rinsing. However, skip this step for clients with very dry skin to avoid disrupting the skin's upper layer, which can cause patchiness.
- Apply the Number 3 Nourishing Elixir from the Glaze range to prepare the hair cuticle. Let it develop for 3 minutes, then remove with the Pro Cleanser. If your client has oily skin, you can perform an extra clean with the Supercilium Booster.
- Shake and Mix Your Liquid Dye:
- Shake the Liquid Dye before mixing. Use a 2:1 ratio: mix 2 parts of Liquid Dye with Keratin and 1 part of Oxydant 3%.
- Map the Eyebrows:
- It’s advisable for beginners to map the brows before mixing the dye. This can be done using mapping paste or string to enhance brow symmetry.
- Shape the eyebrows before the dye treatment for beginners. Experienced users may choose to wax and shape during the processing time.
- 4. Liquid Dye Application:
- Use thin layers of dye for faster development on the skin.
- Begin by drawing or stamping the outline from the baseline, starting from the middle of the eyebrow and working towards the tail, ensuring the tail is the darkest area. Fill in the rest of the brow, ensuring even distribution of dye.
- Correct any small mistakes quickly with a cotton swab or microbrush and the Supercilium Color Corrector. The dye begins to stain the skin immediately, so neatness is key.
- Ombre Effect:
- For a natural look, create an ombre effect by applying dye heavier at the tail and lighter at the front. Remove dye from the bulb/start of the brows 1 to 3 minutes after application to see how quickly the dye develops based on your client’s skin type.
- Final Steps:
- After approximately 10 minutes, remove the Liquid Dye using a dry cotton pad, working from the front to the tail. Use a damp cotton pad for any remaining dye, avoiding scrubbing to prevent removal of the stain. Clean up the edges with a dry cotton swab.
- Finish with a Bang:
- Use the Supercilium Brow Micro Concealer to define and highlight the brow area for extra contrast. Start at the beginning of the brow and lightly etch a line along the bottom until the arch. Blend with a Blending Brush.
- For a more striking look, draw a line along the bottom and upper lines of the brow and blend as needed.
